Did you know...
1. Billing your insurance is not always the cheapest option - oftentimes utilizing a pharmacy’s loyalty program or a cash discount card for generic medications can be significantly cheaper.
2. 90 day supplies may be cheaper - some insurance companies will give copay incentives and loyalty plan prices for a longer supply without insurance can cost less than multiple copays.
3. Registering for a copay card could also save you money - If you are on a brand name medication, always check and see if there is a manufacturer copay assistance card. *Medicare plans are not eligible for most programs.
4. For our patients who do not have prescription coverage, a combination of the above can save you money - Most of the major chains have huge cash mark-ups. Oftentimes the loyalty programs at independent pharmacies can be significantly cheaper than the larger chains.
5. Checking into manufacturer patient assistance programs is another option - If you are on a brand name medication, you may qualify for the program even if you have a Medicare plan.
6. Looking for a formulary alternative is also an option - Check into the preferred formulary options with your insurance and see if there is a good alternative for you.
We would love to help ensure that you are paying the least amount possible for your medications. You don’t have to explore all the things listed above on your own! We will take the time needed to review all your options and help you choose the best one based on your plan and medications.
